Chromic Gut is a surgical suture thread produced from small intestine serosa (mainly collagen) of healthy bovine from Brazil. The Chromic Gut thread is absorbable, is a twisted multifilament with a monofilament appearance as a result of precision polishing which assures uniform diameter and a smooth surface. The threads receive chromic salts treatment in order to retard absorption.
